Jim has 38 years of extensive
international and domestic transportation, logistics, enforcement
and emergency response experience. He is a Certified Environmental
Compliance Manager (CECM), serves as Associate Staff at DOT/RSPA's
Transportation Safety Institute in Oklahoma City and as
instructional staff at Texas A&M University's Environmental, Health
and Safety Department. He has conducted hazardous materials courses
worldwide, resided in the Middle East and Far East for 12 years and
is fluent in Arabic, Farsi, German, Thai and Vietnamese. Jim
currently serves as DGI's industry liaison to Transport Dangerous
Goods Canada (TDG), Secretaria de Comunicaciones y Transporte de
Mexico (SCT), and the United States Coast Guard. He has written
several training publications on 29, 40, and 49 CFR and the IMDG
Code. He is a member of COHMED, COSTHA and NIT League and holds a
Bachelors Degree in Environmental Engineering.

of Hazardous Materials Enforcement (PHMSA) where he performed 1000+
inspections of shippers, packaging manufacturers and cylinder

Terry Poland has over 25-years of management and training experience in airline and air freight transportation logistics. His experience includes air crew service in the United States Air Force, airline operations management with DHL Air Cargo and Mid Pacific Airlines in Honolulu, Hawaii, and freight forwarding experience as the Hawaii District Manager for Lynden Air Freight. During his career, Terry was directly responsible for the various company hazmat training and compliance programs. A graduate of the University of Hawaii (Leeward College) in 1986, Terry moved to moved from his home in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Henderson, Nevada, in 2003. |

Bob brings with him over 16 years experience in handling, training
and shipping of dangerous goods and hazardous wastes. He is a
Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Certified
Environmental Health and Safety Trainer (CET) and a Certified Safety
Professional (CSP). He is also 40 hr HAZWOPER certified and
has been trained by the Bureau of Industry and Security in export
regulations. He has
worked in both the environmental industry and in chemical
distribution. Currently
he owns a consulting company which handles OSHA, DOT and EPA
regulatory training and compliance.
He holds a B.S. in environmental studies and an M.B.A.
He is a member of the ASSE, ACHMM, BCSP and IHMM. |
![]() Vic Thomas | IATA, 49CFR, IMDG, Infectious Substances | Vic comes to DGI after 28 years with an international agriculture company where he was the Senior Regulations Specialist. In addition to ensuring his company was in compliance with the regulations, he also conducted training and on-site audits. Vic is a past Board member of HMAC, representing industry at the UN Subcommittee of Experts in Geneva, Switzerland. He holds degrees in both chemistry and biochemistry. |
