DGI Training is the proud sponsor of our very own Geremy Escolta. He's making his bid for a spot for the US Tae Kwon Do team for the 2016 Summer Olympics. Being the son of long time DGI employee, Mari Escolta, Geremy was in born into the DGI family.
He started Tae Kwon Do at three years old and is now 18. Geremy has been training for 15 years and is a 2nd degree black belt. He has competed in many national and international competitions. He recently fought at the US Open in Las Vegas, where he beat his first opponent from Costa Rica. He sustained a foot injury during his win against his second opponent, from Mexico, that kept him from advancing. He is recovering and preparing for his next competition in April in Fresno, CA.
Geremy will be traveling extensively for the next year and a half, building points (at the international level) to build his ranking for a chance to fight for a spot on the US Team. We are all so proud of him!
