Darryl Melton

 

Darryl is originally from the Saint Petersburg, Florida where he attended Saint Petersburg High School. He worked in construction for 10 years after which time he enlisted in the Navy. Darryl retired from 22 years of active duty service in the U.S. Navy as a Damage Control (Fire Fighter) Chief.  Throughout his Naval career Darryl spent most of his time on sea duty and has served on four ships.

He has served as a Navy Recruiter and Afloat Training Specialist. He holds a Navy Enlisted Classification as a Naval Instructor and is a certified Chemical, Biological and Radiological Defense Specialist. His last tour was spent at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Florida as the Disaster Preparedness Operations Specialist.

He retired in December of 2009 and went to work for Battelle Memorial Institute as a Corporate Trainer and Emergency Management Subject-Matter-Expert. He is a graduate of Southern Illinois University completing his undergraduate study in Workforce Education and Development specializing in Training. He also holds a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA) from University of Phoenix.

He currently resides in the city of Hernando Florida with his wife Vickie and their dog Sammy. He has two adult children Max and Heather. In his free time he enjoys cooking, fishing, working out and sports.
