Who should take this course? The 1-Day Recurrent training classroom course is for shippers who prepare dangerous goods shipments for highway transit using the 49CFR regulations, and who have had 49CFR training within the previous 3 years. Topics covered include a review of the the 2-Day initial class with an emphasis on updates and changes.
For shipments using Ground Transportation in the United States; also known as DOT. Fulfills US DOT and International Law Training Requirements.
Recurrent training is required every 3 years for 49CFR.
Prerequisites: Previous 49CFR training within previous 3 years.

Course Duration
Time Required:
- Classroom training time (taught at a hotel location) is 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m local time each day.
- The first day of your class registration begins at 8:00 a.m. with coffee provided.
- There will be a one hour lunch break on your own. (Morning and Afternoon snacks will be provided)
Additional Required Training
Depending on your job functions, additional training may be required:
- Function Specific Training - Ultimately (in the United States) your employer has final responsibility for determining if a hazmat employee is properly trained for their particular job function. Since there is a potential for limitless types of job functions as determined by an individual employer, we as your training provider can only suggest what types of additional training might be required.
- Hazmat Security Awareness Training (SAT) - In the United States this additional training is required. DGI offers access to free SAT on our website.
- If you ship Lithium Batteries, Radioactive Materials or Explosives additional training is recommended.
