Description
Who should take this course? This 2-Day IATA webinar is designed for basic shippers, freight forwarders, third party logistics entities, carriers, freight brokers and shipping personnel who prepare dangerous goods shipments and sign the shipping papers for air transport. This includes Personnel responsible for classifying hazardous product, and anyone else who meets the definition of a "hazmat employee" and who needs to understand how to read and interpret the IATA Air Regulations.
For shipments using Air Transportation; also known as ICAO. Fulfills US DOT and International Law Training Requirements.
IATA Training is required for any hazmat employee who needs to understand how to use the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR).
Recurrent training is required every 24 months for IATA.

Required Materials
- Student Workbook - Students download workbook to view and print prior to class. We suggest putting it in a three ring binder for ease of use. If you do not print the workbook, you must be able to view the workbook at the same time as the webinar.
- Regulations - Current edition of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations is required for this session. If you need a current copy, we suggest purchasing one from our recommended suppliers.
- Exam - An online exam concludes the course. Follow instructions in your confirmation email. Your instructor will provide additional details regarding the quiz.
- Recommended Supplies - Sticky notes, pens, a highlighter, and note paper.

- Complete your training from your desk or any convenient location with an internet connection.
- We recommend taking the webinar from a location where you will not be distracted by coworkers or daily work duties.
Course Duration
Time Required:
- Public webinars are conducted from 11am – 7pm Eastern Standard Time (includes testing).
- Sign-in begins 15 minutes prior to class start time.
- There will be a lunch break for approximately 30 minutes.
- Class times are EST, please adjust according to your time zone.
Additional Required Training
Depending on your job functions, additional training may be required:
- Function Specific Training - Ultimately (in the United States) your employer has final responsibility for determining if a hazmat employee is properly trained for their particular job function. Since there is a potential for limitless types of job functions as determined by an individual employer, we as your training provider can only suggest what types of additional training might be required.
- Hazmat Security Awareness Training (SAT) - In the United States this additional training is required. DGI offers access to free SAT on our website.
- If you ship Lithium Batteries, Radioactive Materials or Explosives additional training is recommended.
