Who should take this course? Individuals who are involved in shipping only Limited Quantities and/or Consumer Commodities by air, ground and ocean transport.
This course includes: This course covers the following commodities being shipped under IATA, DOT, and IMDG Regulations. Items are packaged in a form intended or suitable for retail sale to consumers for the purposes of personal care or household use.
- Aerosols (generally not larger than 17 oz)
- Flammable Liquids not larger than 1 gallon per bottle/can
- Corrosives, generally not larger than one quart
- Finished packages of the above substances not more than 30 kg (66 lbs)

Topics Covered
Upon completion of this course attendees will be able to:
- Identify the relationship between Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations (49 CFR), the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations and the IMDG Code.
- Know shipper and operator responsibilities.
- Identify the nine classes of hazardous materials.
- Select a proper shipping name.
- Choose the appropriate packaging
- Properly mark and label packages
- Complete shipping papers when required for Limited Quantities and Consumer Commodities using 49 CFR, IATA and IMDG.

- Regulations
Current editions of 49 CFR, IATA, and IMDG regulations are recommended but not required. Students must provide their own copies, as they are not included with the course. Copies are available from our recommended suppliers .

An exam concludes the course. Follow the on-screen instructions.

- Function Specific Training - As long as you are not in a position where you have to read and interpret the regulations or determine compliance or acceptance, this course is sufficient for those workers following instructions and just handling shipments of limited quantities and consumer commodities. Ultimately (in the United States) your employer has final responsibility for determining if a hazmat employee is properly trained for their particular job function. Since there is a potential for limitless types of job functions as determined by an individual employer, we as your training provider can only suggest what types of additional training might be required.
